¡Feliz Navidad!

Some highlights from Hermana Schmutz's Christmas 2008:
  • 3 apostles spoke - Elder Christensen, Elder Bednar and Elder Holland
  • played chimes on Christmas night
  • organized and lead the entire zone in re-inacting the Nativity scene
  • put together Christmas stockings for her district with some help from home
Here is an excerpt from an email with her testimony:
"
I hope you all enjoy Christmas, bask in the joy that this beautiful holiday brings. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to serve Him, whose birth we celebrate at this time of year. I miss you all terribly but can constantly find comfort in the fact that this is where I am supposed to be, if this gospel was not true I wouldn't feel that way. If this gospel was not true I would not feel joy and warmth while I share lessons in broken Spanish. The Lord's promises to us are real, and because He loves us we can feel it everyday! I love that Christmas is a time that invites people to be more kind and loving, but I am glad that I grew up in a home where we strived to keep the spirit of giving and loving all year round. We are blessed, aren't we?"
